Preheat oven to 350° F
In a medium bowl: Pour 1 cup of boiling water over 2 cups of bran buds. Add 2½
teaspoons of baking soda. Stir together and let cool.
In a large bowl: Cream together 1 cup packed brown sugar, ½ cup raw or turbinado sugar,
and ½ cup butter.
Add: 2 eggs, 2½ cups flour, ½ teaspoon salt, 2 pints of buttermilk, cinnamon to
taste, the above bran mixture, 1 cup bran flakes, ½ cup Pavich Organic Raisins, ½ cup
Pavich Organic Dates - coarsely chopped, ½ cup Pavich Organic Prunes - coarsely chopped, and
½ cup chopped macadamia nuts (optional).
Mix well.
To bake, spoon batter into lined muffin tins. Bake at 350° F for 35 minutes. Makes
approximately 12 to 15 muffins.
